Product information "Digitization of Legacy Data Carriers and Media"

Target Organization:
Organizations that want to copy and digitize data or archives from historical (legacy) media in a modern format, but do not have access to appropriate legacy equipment by their own.

Details:
Many of the data carriers that were once common, such as floppy disks, are being used less and less. Cloud services and flash-based hard disks have made the use such older data mediums as CDs and floppy disks obsolete for some time now. However, in many cases backups were not made in the past, so that the data is no longer accessible for you. OYSTEC has the technical infrastructure to extract from these old data mediums and to transfer them to a data medium that is compatible with your current systems.

Comprehensive Data Recovery for Legacy Devices
Our data recovery services excel in salvaging data from a wide array of legacy devices. Whether it's a vintage floppy disk or an early solid-state flash card, we are equipped to handle the nuances of each format. Below is a catalog of the devices we specialize in:

IDDevice TypeDescriptionTypical Usage Years
1 8" Floppy Disk Early form of disk storage with large, flexible magnetic disks. 1971 - 1980s
2 5.25" Floppy Disk The common storage medium of the 80s with a hard shell and flexible magnetic disk inside. 1976 - 1990s
3 3.5" Floppy Disk Sturdy plastic case with a metal shutter, a smaller version of floppy disk popular in the 90s. 1984 - early 2000s
4 MFM Hard Disk Hard disk using Modified Frequency Modulation, a common encoding method for magnetic storage. 1980s - 1990s
5 IDE Hard Disk An Integrated Drive Electronics interface for older hard disks, pre-dating SATA. 1986 - early 2000s
6 SCSI Hard Disk Early hard disk with Small Computer System Interface, used primarily in servers. 1980s - 2000s
7 ATA Hard Disk Advanced Technology Attachment hard disks, the successor to the IDE interface. Mid 1990s - 2010s
8 CompactFlash (CF) Card A mass storage device format used in portable electronic devices. 1994 - present
